Teddy And The Gang!
Monday, Mar 02,2009

I have been volunteering at GSROC for almost a year when Teddy chose me to love. I adopted Teddy in October and decided to relocate to Chicago shortly thereafter. Teddy did amazing on the flight (it was quite short compared to his trip from Hong Kong) and he immediately started sprinting through the snow drifts as soon as we got home! Shortly thereafter, Teddy became very ill. He was lethargic, stopped eating, and began losing alarming amounts of weight. I was heartbroken when I found out Teddy had an advanced case of heartworm and that his treatment would be risky. Teddy had his treatment in December and though it has been a long recovery, my parents were there to help me in nursing him back to health. We aren’t out of the woods yet, but in the past 3 months, he has gained 13 lbs, has an enormous “winter coat”, and has the energy of a puppy! He is a completely different dog who loves long walks and living the “city life”. He also enjoys the car ride to visit his grandparents (probably because they spoil him rotten)! He has made friends with their rescue dog Bella and Diesel kitty. Who knew Teddy liked cats?!?! Teddy also loves playing and giving kisses to his roommate Sophia (an unlikely pair). I just wanted to thank everyone who made the adoption happen. Attached are some pics of Teddy and his new friends (Bella, Diesel, and Sophia).
